A core priority of the BRIDGE project was to equip researchers with the entrepreneurial mindset and practical tools required to translate laboratory excellence into high-impact industrial innovations. Through dedicated technology transfer workshops led by innovation managers from IIT and Fraunhofer IVV, and the strategic enrolment of FORTH in the EU-funded WiderAdvance Facility, our team successfully bridged the gap between academic research and commercial readiness.

  • Technology Transfer & IPR Workshop | Led by Dr Andreas Stäbler (Fraunhofer IVV) An intensive workshop delivered at FORTH, focusing on the industrial valorization of research outputs, the mechanics of the patenting process, and suitable business models for modern research organizations.
  • Exploitation Strategies & Industrial Collaboration Session | Led by Mr Fabrizio Tubertini (IIT Technology Transfer Directorate) A specialized training session tracking how leading European institutes exploit their research results, manage complex Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) issues, and establish sustainable legal frameworks for collaborating with industrial partners.
  • Academic-to-Industry Transition Case Studies | Presented by Dr Michele Ferri (CSO) and Mr Andrea Riva (CEO) of Antares Electrolysis Invited spin-off representatives and industry experts shared first-hand experiences on commercializing laboratory findings, launching a deep-tech start-up, and navigating the private investor sector.
  • Enrolment in the EU-funded WiderAdvance Facility FORTH successfully secured a position in this prestigious European acceleration facility. Senior and early-stage researchers received advanced coaching in “Exploitation Readiness,” standardisation procedures, intangible asset management, and investor pitching for the project’s gas-sensing outputs.
  • Identification of Key Exploitable Results (KERs) The consortium successfully matured and documented four Key Exploitable Results positioned at TRL 3-4, defining clear commercialization pathways for lead-free perovskite platforms in the environmental monitoring and non-invasive medical diagnostics sectors.
